a.) The writing assignment I am considering choosing for essay #4 is my communications paper that is due this Sunday. The paper is about nonverbal communication and nonverbal cues. We have to observe two different groups of people and write how they are communicating nonverbally and what cues they are using.
b.) Writing is similar in my communication compared to our class because we could either use MLA or APA writing style. That’s really the only similarity because the teacher isn’t really concerned with grammar and sentence structure. We are more focused on the information in the paper and if it is correct. So the writing is different in that sense compared to our class.
c.) The skills that are most transferable from class to class are just knowing how to use the different writing styles. Not all teachers are going to want a MLA format, even though that’s what my high school english teachers drilled in our heads. Knowing how to set up your papers using these writing styles is really helpful. In my history class last semester my teacher wanted our paper to be written in Chicago style, I had no idea what that was. I had to look it up and figure it out, once I figured it out I was good. Now I know how to use Chicago style and it will help me in my future classes.

a.) According to the peer review I might need to fix some grammar mistakes and elaborate a little more with some of my topic sentences.
b.) As far as my editing checklist goes, I don’t think I need to add anything to it. Everything on my checklist are still things that I have to work on and my peers notice it while they are editing my essay. So I am going to just keep working on the things that I struggle with to help improve my essay.
c.) I will work on this probably on Sunday. Sundays are my homework days and I get everything finished and ready for the week. My plan for completing the final draft by this Tuesday is like I said to work on it this Sunday and look over everything my peers said and make the changes if needed. After I do that I should have the my essay finished and ready to go.

a.) The most helpful part of this course so far for me has been the feedback during peer review. Getting the feedback from my classmates and teacher have really helped me with my writing. I think my writing has definitely improved as we write each essay. Something else that has been helpful to me in this course is practicing thesis statements and learning how to make our thesis statement clear in our essays.
b.) Although my writing has been improving I could still use some practice in other areas. Sentence structure and run on sentences still give me a hard time. Run on sentences are hard sometimes because, I want to complete my thought and I don’t know wether to put a comma or semi colon.
c.) To further my skills, in class if we keep reviewing grammar and sentence structure I think I will keep getting better with my writing. The more practice I have the better I will do. Practice makes perfect. Outside of class, things I could do to further my skills would just to be to practice on my own. Practicing the things I have the most trouble with on my own might help me also. Reading over my notes and the reading assignments we are given will also help me improve.

a.) My plan for my checklist did help me a bit. I planned to plan out my essay before writing it. I couldn’t spend to much time on that because it was a timed exam so I felt a little bit rushed. I took my exam on the second floor of the library just like I had planned to and that really helped because it was a very quiet environment for me to really concentrate on my writing. I did not use my editing checklist on the midterm. I did think about the things I wrote up there and tried to avoid making those mistakes.
b.) As far as the final, some changes I would make to my testing plan is definitely use my editing checklist while I’m taking the exam so I know exactly what to avoid while I’m writing. Also I want to try to spend a little bit of time to plan out my thesis and topic sentences a little better so it will be easier for me to write the essay.
c.) For me the difference between timed essays and untimed essays is that with timed essays I definitely feel rushed to finish my essay. I feel like I don’t have time to plan things out that well so I can insure I have a well written essay. With untimed essay you can plan out everything before you write and you have time to go back and proof read everything before you turn it in. I definitely do better on untimed essays than I do on timed essays. On timed essays I don’t think there is a way to prepare because you don’t know what the prompt is until you start and you can’t spend too much time planning it out because you have to have enough time to write it. For the untimed essays, to prepare I do a complete outline so when I go to write my essay its pretty much already written I just have to put it together. I prefer untimed essays over timed essays.
