a.) I am going to follow the same steps for the final as I did for the midterm. For the first few minutes during the final I am going to take the time to right out my thesis and topic sentences. That really helped me during the midterm and made it easier to write my paper because I had all my thoughts together.

b.) Advice for this course I would give is to just really pay attention and do all of your assignments. If you do that you will pass the course and learn some very important things about writing.

c.) I think pretty much everything about the course was valuable because it helped me and I learned something from it. There was nothing in this curse that I didn’t benefit from.

a.) Some writing skills I think I have improved on throughout this semester is definitely my sentence structure and my thesis statements. They have really improved since the first writing assignment in this class. Before taking this class my writing was sub par I would get “C’s” mostly on my essays, but in this class my essay grades have improved a lot.

b.) The area I want to keep working on and improving is my sentences and comma usage. Every time I have a writing assignment I will focus on that the most to make sure everything is correct and to insure that I get a good grade.

c.) I can’t think of a specific assignment we have done that has really helped me. I think this entire class in general has helped me out a lot with my writing skills. i will definitely carry the things I have been taught in this writing class and take them over into my English classes in the future.

a.) For the group presentation we have not assigned specific parts for each member. we are all kind of contributing information about our topic. We are all just going to combine information.

b.) the assignment itself is easy. We all know a lot about our topic and getting all the info won’t be a problem for us. the hard p;art about this assignment is just getting together as a group because all of us don’t live on campus. I have a long commute to school so I can’t just drive to norfolk anytime. So since that is a set back we have to do all of our communicating and work online through google docs.

c.) to complete this presentation on time we are just going to try and work on it this weekend and get everything together by tuesday. I feel like we have a lot left to do but hopefully we can get it done. we still have to create a powerpoint.

a.) The changes I plan to make to the final draft of my essay are just going over my peer review and fixing the mistakes that I have. I am going to go over my editing checklist and make sure I correct things in my paper according to my checklist. Run ons and commas were my main points on my editing checklist, so I am going to be looking out for those when writing my final draft.

b.) I plan on working on this final copy on Sunday, which is my usual homework days. My plan is to just go over everything and proof read it and submit it all this Sunday so it is on time.

c.) During the writing workshop, I worked on my run on sentences, and knowing when to use a comma. I also learned instead of using a period to break up a sentence I can also add a semi colon. This was mainly what the tutors helped me with during the workshop. They gave great information about the writing center and how to improve our papers to make them better. I am definitely going to try and go to the writing center in the future if I am struggling with any of my papers in any of my classes.

a.) The writing assignment I am considering choosing for essay #4 is my communications paper that is due this Sunday. The paper is about nonverbal communication and nonverbal cues. We have to observe two different groups of people and write how they are communicating nonverbally and what cues they are using.

b.) Writing is similar in my communication compared to our class because we could either use MLA or APA writing style. That’s really the only similarity because the teacher isn’t really concerned with grammar and sentence structure. We are more focused on the information in the paper and if it is correct. So the writing is different in that sense compared to our class.

c.) The skills that are most transferable from class to class are just knowing how to use the different writing styles. Not all teachers are going to want a MLA format, even though that’s what my high school english teachers drilled in our heads. Knowing how to set up your papers using these writing styles is really helpful. In my history class last semester my teacher wanted our paper to be written in Chicago style, I had no idea what that was. I had to look it up and figure it out, once I figured it out I was good. Now I know how to use Chicago style and it will help me in my future classes.
